Yoga For Mid Back (Thoracic Spine)
42m
The upper and lower back get a lot of attention on the yoga mat and the mid back gets to be part of that but today, it's our main focus. When our thoracic spine, or mid back, is tight, our body likes to use the neck and low back to compensate which can create pain in both areas. The T-spine tends to have less range of motion then the other two as well and we know the body likes to take the path of least resistance.
That said, this is a well rounded practice that starts with stability work and then goes into myofascial release of the entire circumference of the mid torso. Our body is more readily accepting of softening when we let it know the area we are working is safely stable.
You'll need: blanket or beach towel, yoga block and one dumb-bell if you have it. If you don't, use your intention to engage the space we're working on.
