"Nothin' good comes from having weak glutes!" When the glutes are weak, it becomes a domino effect around them creating dysfunctional patterns and compensation in other musculature groups that eventually leads to pain or other pelvic conditions like urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. In today's class, we are doing several different postures and movements that support the glutes and in an indirect way, are also creating stability in the hamstrings.
Side note, this is fabulous work for low back pain including SI Joint dysfunction. If you have a hypertonic pelvic floor, pay attention to how your pelvic floor responds to this work. If it's too much, then please go back to a more foundational class like Recruit the Glutes. We need those glutes firing when they are supposed to. We will lightly hit on this in class today.
You'll need: blanket, slider (can use a paper plate for carpet or a hand towel for hard floors), one medium weight if you have it and want to increase the load
