Breathe Again: Diaphram Opening
Breathe Better
•
36m
Today we are workshopping poses that help get us into the muscles that affect our diaphragm. Stretching, myofascial release and even some manual therapy are all included. We will hit up the front of the chest, shoulders, side body, lats and even the subscapularis! All with the goal of freeing up the body to be able to 'breathe again.'
NOTE: this class holds an extended childs pose. Place a skinny pillow or towel between your calves and hamstrings if flexion of the knee is a cranky thing. If childs pose is not in your practice, then picking a different class may be appropriate. There's not a great alternative to the work we are specifically doing today.
You'll need: two blocks and if you have it, a bolster. If you don't, grab a folded up blanket or pillow and it'll work just as well.
