Exploring the Sides

Two sides of the same pelvis.
Your pelvic floor is actually divided into two hemispheres. The right and left side operate, in a sense, separately from each other. Which means there is every possibility that each side is developed differently from the other. Especially given the fact that our habits further these disparities.
Think, leaning to one side when standing. Or using one leg as our dominant leg to stand up every time we get out of a chair. If you cross your leg, there’s probably one leg that you naturally go to first. When we pick something off the floor, there’s usually a dominant leg that we use to push into the floor to stand back up.
These differences show up in our glutes, hips, pelvic floor and well, everything! Remember, it’s all connected.
In today’s full-length class, I’ll be taking students through an exploration of each side to see if we can pinpoint some of these disparities. Then, we will work individual sides to start to create balance.
You'll Need: a tennis ball, blocks, mat, blanket and a strap

Comfort in the Chaos
