Connecting to the Glutes

Connecting to the Glutes

The classes included in this playlist are focused on 3 things: exploration, reconnection and creating stability. Do not mistake stability training for what you would do when you lift weights like during a weighted deadlift. Stability is often more subtle, it's focused and slower in pace. Not only are we reconnecting to the glutes, we are working on all the musculature that helps with healthy hips. This include your internal and external rotators as well as pelvic floor, hamstrings and inner thighs. I also threw in a foot centered class because everything starts from the ground up!

Connecting to the Glutes
  • Wise Ass Dumb Ass (Revised edition!)

Indeed, it's a "cheeky" name, but there's a good reason for it! See, as we get older and less than desireable patterns form in our bodies, some parts don't fire the way they were designed to. The glutes being a big culprit. So in today's class we explored how to tell if they are firing and als...

  • Exploring the Sides

Two sides of the same pelvis.

Your pelvic floor is actually divided into two hemispheres. The right and left side operate, in a sense, separately from each other. Which means there is every possibility that each side is developed differently from the other. Especially given the fact that our h...

  • Exploring the Sides Mini

Our pelvis has two hemispheres and believe it or not, they can be operating with very different musculature and even anatomy. This class will help you discover what's going on between the left and right and determine what your body needs from you to start to create some balance. This is a short...

  • Feelin' Cheeky

What happens if your glutes are weak and aren't firing when they are supposed to? We compensate. So what fires on to help compensate when the glutes are being lazy? The Pelvic floor and hamstrings can absolutely be part of that equation. Also - the glutes are supposed to stabalize the sacrum....

  • Exploring Stability

The reason this class is titled "explore" is because we are going to spend the first part of class "finding" our hip, glute and pelvic floor muscles and then later in class we will implement our discoveries into action with several yoga poses! The idea is to cultivate integrity by knowing which ...

  • Foot Focused Hatha Practice

Your body does NOT like concentrated stress. Your feet distribute stress. They cannot do that if they are not functioning correctly.  We already know that everything is connected. We know that there are connective tissue lines throughout your body that go all the way from your feet to your tongue...
